For a brief moment in time -
I felt the wispy kiss of love,

then survived the bitter taste
of rejection salted with confusion.

Lips left dripping with desire,
eyes stripped of inner shine.

Kicked in the gut of tomorrow
I stand with my face towards the sun -

and wait, patiently, for the next moment.
